Carers and Work is an initiative that recognises that carers of people with mental illness face particular barriers to pursuing vocational options such as training, studying, up-skilling and paid employment due to the unpredictability and episodic nature of mental illness.
Carers unable to participate in the workforce are impacted economically, emotionally and socially. They are more likely to experience poor mental health, financial stress and depression and have poorer physical health outcomes.
JobCo. can assist people seeking employment and support whilst maintaining their caring role by improving their readidess for employemnt through resume, interview skills workshops and job hunting. We can assist people wanting to upskill or return to education.
