The National Panels of Assessors provides a range of Assessment Services to assist with the needs of people with disability in the workplace.

Supported Wage System (SWS)

The Supported Wage System allows eligible jobseekers on the Disability Support Pension to secure employment and be legally paid less than the minimum award wage after being assessed by a productivity based wage assessment. JobCo Employment Assessors determine a disabled employee's productivity based on their specific duties with the resulting assessed productivity percentage hourly award wage (e.g. 40%,50%,60%, etc) being paid by the employer. All SWS assessments are reviewed annually. There is no cost to the employer for these assessments.

Ongoing Support Assessments (OSA)

OSAs are independent assessments of Disability Employment Service employees by JobCo Employment Services Assessors. The JobCo Employment Services Assessor liaises with the Disability Employment Service provider, the Disability Employment Service employee and relevant employer (if permission is given by the employee) so they can establish all the necessary relevant support evidence to determine the most appropriate level of Ongoing Support for the employee. This Ongoing Support can be a High, Moderate or Flexible level of support or no support. If no Ongoing Support is assessed this means the employee is an independent worker and can be Exited from their Disability Employment Service provider.

Employment Assistance Fund (EAF) Workplace Modification Scheme

The Employment Assistance Fund/Workplace Modifications Scheme is a Federal Government scheme that pays for the costs involved in modifying the workplace or the purchase of special or adaptive workplace equipment to assist employees with a disability to secure or maintain their employment. These workplace assessments identify and remove barriers in the workplace for people with a disability. Eligible jobseekers or employees on the Disability Support Pension are assessed by JobCo Employment Services Assessors to determine the most appropriate Workplace Modification to enable the jobseeker or employee to secure or maintain their employment. There is no cost to the employer for the assessment or the workplace modification.

This Workplace Modification scheme is available to existing disabled employees if they have had a change in duties or a change in their disability or a new modification becomes available that would increase their productivity and enhance their ability to remain employed. There is no restriction on the types of modifications that can be approved under this Workplace Modification scheme as long as each application meets the eligibility criteria.
