 1. What is The Wow Factor
The Wow Factor is a computer based digital tool designed to deliver employment readiness training via a stand alone desktop course or an online web based course.


 2. How do I know if my system is compatible for running The Wow Factor
You need to have a computer/device that is able to run flash player 10.0 or later.


 3. Do I need an Internet connection?
Yes.


 4. Can I download The Wow Factor and use it offline?
There is a desktop version called The WoW Factor Stand Alone that can be downloaded and used offline. This product requires a separate license to that of The WoW Factor online versions.


 5. Is The WoW Factor accessible to hearing and seeing impaired users?
Yes, The Wow Factor is accessible to hearing and seeing impaired users.


 6. Does JavaScript need to be enabled?
If your computer prompts you, follow the prompts to enable JavaScript. If you are not prompted you do not need to do so.


 7. Do I need latest version of flash Player to view the course?
The computer running the Wow Factor needs to have flash player 10.2 or later.


 8. Do I need audio/speaker to hear the audio narration and sound effects?
Yes you need to have a head set or external speaker to hear the sound effects and audio narration. The course can still be completed without audio.


 9. Can I resize (minimise/maximise) the screen?
You can minimise/maximise your web browser window, but the project size will remain the same.


 10. Can I use a portable device to run The Wow Factor?
Yes, you can use any device with a Flash player to run The Wow Factor.


 11. How do I locate/find the course (The Wow Factor)?
Visit the website www.theworldofwork.com.au and follow the links to the relevant product.


 12. Will the course get cut-off if don't have the correct resolution?
This is unlikely, but possible. If The WoW content seems cut off, try the maximise and minimise buttons, this may reposition the content to fit your screen.


 13. What is the first step to start the course?
Visit the www.theworldofwork.com.au website and navigate to the RUN menu of your particular version. You will be directed to the course entry page where you will enter your user name and password. Once in, click on the course name and it will load.


 14. How many times can I open the Wow Factor?
You can enter and exit as many times as you like for the duration of your license. License duration is defined at the time of enrolment.


 15. What is the Main Menu?
Main Menu is the hub. You can select any project that you want from 'Main Menu' and once the selected project has finished, you can come back to the main menu to select another project.


 16. What is a project?
A project is an individual interactive learning component. Each project has its own project number, title, introduction and quiz. The Wow Factor consists of 14 projects, excluding the Introduction project, which comes without a project number. Each project acts in a similar way with all features explained in the Introduction project.


 17. Is there a prescribed order when selecting projects?
There isn't any particular order to follow you can select any project at any time. But we recommend you begin with the 'Introduction' project as the 'Introduction' project explains the functionality of The WoW Factor.


 18. What is a quiz?
A quiz is a series of questions to test your knowledge. Each quiz starts with an introduction and ends with a result page. The quiz introduction is the entry point to the quiz and it alerts the user to the quiz.


 19. Can I review content more than once without attempting the quiz?
Yes you can. The quiz introduction gives an option to 'Review Project' again before attempting the quiz.


 20. Can I review the content once I start the quiz?
No, you cannot review the content once you start the quiz. Once the quiz has been commenced your options are 'Submit' an answer and this will move you forward.


 21. Is there any fixed time frame for a project/quiz?
There is not any fixed time frame to finish the course or a project.


 22. How can I navigate through the wow factor?
The WoW Factor projects are designed to involve the student at every step with many interactive features and easy navigation. All features are accompanied by keyboard shortcuts for quick and easy navigation.


 23. What is a keyboard command?
Keyboard commands are combinations of key held down on your computer keypad that you can use for navigation trough the course. All keyboard commands are accessed by using the 'Ctrl' key on both Windows and Mac operating systems, in conjunction with a single letter.


 24. What is the 'NEXT' button, where it is located? What does it do?
The 'Next' button is like a play button. The next button advances the slide or moves to the next slide and it is the main method used to progress forward. It appears at the bottom right corner of each slide throughout the course except in the quiz section. You can continue to the next page by clicking on the 'Next' button or alternatively press Ctrl + N on keyboard.


 25. What is the 'SUBMIT' button, where it is located? What does it do?
The 'Submit' button appears throughout the Quiz section of each project. It will always appear at the bottom of the slide, in the centre. Each chapter ends with a series of questions called a Quiz to test you on what you've just learned. Every time you complete a question you need to hit 'Submit' to make it count. Alternatively you can use the keyboard command 'Control-S'.


 26. What is the 'BACK' button, what does it do?
The 'Back' button will enable you to jump back one slide. It is located at the bottom right of the slide, to the left of the 'Next' button. It appears throughout each project, but not in the quizzes. The quiz sections only have a 'Submit' button. The Keyboard command for the 'Back' button is 'Control-B'.


 27. What is the 'MAIN MENU' button, what does it do?
The 'Main Menu' button appears throughout each project, but not in the quiz sections. It appears at the bottom left corner of the slide. It will jump you to The WoW Factor Main Menu where you have a complete list of the World of Work Course projects. From the Main Menu you can navigate to any project. To access the 'Main Menu' button using the computer keyboard hold down the 'Control' key and press the 'M' key at the same time.


 28. What is the 'REVIEW PROJECT' button, what does it do?
The 'Review Project' button appears in the introduction to each project's quiz. It is located to the left of the 'Back' button at the bottom, right of the slide. Clicking on it will jump you to the first slide of the project so you can review the information before attempting the quiz. The 'Project Review' button is there in case you are feeling a little unsure of whether you have taken in all of the information. You don't have to use the 'Review Project' button if you don't want to. The keyboard command for the 'Review Project' button is 'Control-R'.


 29. What is Playback control?
The playback control, consisting of a play bar and a progress bar, allows users to manipulate the project. It consists of transport control such as Play, Pause, Back, Next movements and to turn on or off Audio and Closed Captions.


 30. Where and when to use Playback controls /Play bar?
The Playback controls are situated horizontally at the very bottom line of the slide. These controls are mainly utilized for the Audio and Closed Caption features. However if for some reason you become stuck, or you want to navigate a project independently of its designed functionality, you can use the forward and rewind components of the Play bar.


 31. How can I turn off the audio?
The audio toggle button allows setting change between Audio 'On' and 'Off'. By default, the project opens with Audio on. Click the icon to mute. Then the button will change into mute position.


 32. How can I turn on the audio?
The audio toggle button allows setting change between Audio 'On' and 'Off'. If the audio is in mute status the icon will be . Click on the button to turn Audio on. Then the button will change to audio on position.


 33. Can I print the content on the screen?
Yes you can print any screen of the project. Use the print icon on the right of the play bar at bottom of the project window.


 34. How can I get subtitle/closed caption for narration?
The subtitle/closed caption toggle button allows setting change between 'On' and 'Off'. By default, the project opens with Closed Caption 'Off' state. Click on the icon to turn on the Closed Caption.


 35. How can I turn off the Closed Caption?
The subtitle/closed caption toggle button allows setting change between 'On' and 'Off'. Click on the icon to turn off the Closed Caption.


 36. What will happen if I stop in middle of a project?
You can stop anywhere anytime in any project. However if you exit a project while part way through, you will have to commence from the beginning when you come back to it.


 37. More than one audio voice playing at the same time.
If you are experiencing several audios playing at the same time, the best thing to do is close The Wow Factor application using the close button on the top right hand corner of the screen and restart the application again.


 38. Can't see anything on screen but can hear the audio
You may experience this issue as a result of flash player getting busy, so close down using the close button at the top right corner of the screen and restart The Wow Factor application.


 39. Keyboard shortcut does not work, what do I do?
If keyboard shortcuts do not work with Ctrl key, try the letter key without Ctrl, i.e. 'N' for Next.


 40. Content is not displaying correctly, what do I do?
Close the application window using the close button at top right corner of the screen and restart The Wow Factor application.


 41. Screen freezes, what do I do?
Close the application window using the close button at top right corner of the screen and restart The Wow Factor application.


 42. How do I download the Supporting/resources documents?
Click on the given link on project. Then save to your local drive.


 43. What if some of the course content is not displaying?
Sometimes images could display incorrectly, i.e. Rectangle frame without conent. This is due to the Flash player in a busy state. Close down The Wow Factor application and restart it again.


 44. How do I contact someone about a technical problem

 45. How and where do I get a course completion certificate?
You have to print your project result sheet at the end of each project. Click the print icon on the play bar to print your result.


 46. How can I collect evidence for project completion if do not have a printer?
If you do not have a printer connected to your computer, you can save the project result instead of printing it. You can print the saved document later or you can keep the electronic document as evidence. Click the print icon on the paly bar to activate print dialog. Select a document writer instead of selecting a printer such as 'Adobe PDF', Microsoft XPS Document Writer. Then select the 'Save' option. This process is slightly different for Mac and Windows operating systems. Please refer to your operating system information.
